Fifty vacancies on one posting is not something Job Bank produces often. ACTIMS is recruiting heat and frost insulators (NOC 72321) for industrial and commercial work out of Calgary, Alberta — 50 positions, union collective-agreement wages of CAD 52.74 per hour, and an approved LMIA open to candidates with or without a valid Canadian work permit. Start date: 1 November 2026. Apply by 26 October 2026.

Why this posting exists

Alberta's industrial economy runs on trades that Canadians aren't lining up to do in sufficient numbers, and mechanical insulation is one of them. Insulators wrap piping, ductwork and mechanical systems in industrial plants, commercial buildings and energy facilities — hot-side and cold-side. It's skilled, physically demanding, weather-exposed work, which is exactly why it pays north of fifty dollars an hour at union scale. The posting notes wages are as per collective agreement — that phrase matters: it means negotiated rates, overtime provisions and a grievance structure behind you.

What they ask for

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of relevant experience
  • English or French
  • Seasonal employment, full time, flexible hours — early mornings, nights, weekends, overtime

Reality check for overseas tradespeople

  • An approved LMIA means the employer can hire you from abroad; after a genuine offer you apply for your work permit. It is not permanent residence.
  • The LMIA and all its costs belong to the employer. A recruiter demanding cash for "insulator quota" or "visa processing" is running the oldest scam in the Gulf-and-Canada playbook.
  • Trades experience should be provable — employment letters, photos of work, certifications where you have them. Alberta sites are serious about safety records.
